Revenge 4×23 “Two Graves” Recap

Spoilers Ahead

As much as we make mistakes, It is never too late to turn around and be the person you know that you could be.

Episode Summary: Amanda Clarke admits to killing Victoria Grayson. Before we can call her crazy, it is her plan of escape. With the help of Nolan, the security system malfunctions, giving her enough time to leave. Her calm attitude as she walks out of the prison walls is a hilariously powerful moment. She escapes from from a high secured confinement without a scratch or a bruise. And as Nolan waits outside for her, we remember flashbacks of the two when she first got out so many years ago. Amanda Clarke becomes Amanda Porter as Revenge comes to an end. And lives are remembered as love paves the way to peace.

Review | Analysis: As the show begins, we see a younger Amanda with her father. She draws the infinity sign in the sand as her father completes it. This sign has always been here, from the very beginning. It was that strong infinite love that lead Amanda to clear her father’s name and come out happier than ever.

Revenge 4×22 “Plea” Recap

The truth always has a way of coming out, no matter how much we try to cover it.

Episode Summary: After all this time, Amanda is behind bars. And with the only man with answers on the loose, she must figure out a way to find him. However, to her surprise, he is not the only one she finds.

Review | Analysis: With a tracker attached to Amanda, it’s difficult to get a hold of Mason Treadwell. Fortunately for her, Nolan has proven to be the best techy in the business. Only needing a few moments to fiddle with the wiring, Amanda is free to go in search of the man who’s clearly had it out for her. But who will wear the tracker? David Clark. As her only way to protect her father, she wraps the bracelet around him so that he may rest from all the chemotherapy. Ben, knowing Amanda all too well, comes for a visit.

Revenge 4×21 “Aftermath” Recap

Spoilers Ahead

In the path to revenge, very few friends are kept and many enemies are made.

Episode Summary: As cops try to figure out what exactly happened in the Grayson Mannor, we see Victoria’s most thought out plan come to life. It doesn’t take too long for the news of Victoria’s death to travel all the way to California. Relaxing with his mother and son, Jack has a moment of weakness as he calls Nolan for the scoop. The call itself, shows how much he cares for Emily, even as he is trying to escape his former life.

Review | Analysis: Mason is back and and demands his name to be cleared. With no choice, Amanda pulls through and gets the job done. As the idea that this incident was a homocide comes to the surface, both Amanda and her father are questioned. Who is Amanda’s only alibi? Mason. He however, disconnects his phone and disappears, telling us that that there is something clearly up.

As Amanda leaves the interrogation room, Jack walks in. Flying back after just a few days in California isn’t really the best way to move forward with your life. Amanda and Jack hold hands for a moment. He however, chooses his new life instead and makes it clear to her that he will be going back. That is.. until he finds out that Amanda chose him and went after him. His half smile tells us that California will wait longer than planned.

Revenge 4×20 “Burn” Recap

Sometimes, a fresh start is the best way to continue living, and other times, it may seem that there is nothing left to live for.

Episode Summary: As Amanda hopes to finally start living a regular life, Jack decides to move away, David finds out that he has cancer and Victoria no longer wishes to stick around for more pain.

Review | Analysis: As Jack changes Emily’s tombstone, reality sets in. Amanda Clark is no longer Emily Thorne. She makes sure to tell Jack that it will be all over once the evidence that Victoria holds is gone for good. We can’t help but think that she has been opening up about the idea of living a simple life and possibly growing old with Jack. It seems that this time around, Jack does not believe her.

Revenge 4×19 “Exposure” Recap

A stroll down memory lane may sometimes contain dark moments that are hard to look back on. Sometimes they are dug deep and never touched and other times, they must be felt in order to move forward.

Episode Summary: As Amanda Clark gives the live interview to the press, flashbacks of her journey come to the surface. Emily Thorne, Aidan, Daniel, and all the lives that have been lost, remind us how far she has come since then.

Review | Analysis: This episode of Revenge was one of many memories and flashbacks. After the reveal of her identity, we couldn’t wait to see what would be the fate of Emily.. or shall we say Amanda. As Jack, Nolan and Amanda wait for Victoria to strike, Ben furiously barges in to state how humiliated he has been in front of his friends and family. He walks away and we can’t help but assume that it is over between the two. The man Amanda ends up with should definitely understand all the complications that come with her life and remain supporting of all that she is. With that said, Jack seems to be the perfect candidate.

Revenge 4×18 “Clarity” Recap

When everything about revenge is all said and done, sometimes the only thing left is the truth.

Episode Summary: Emily focuses on clearing Daniel’s name for noble reasons as she tries to rally Jack to her side. Margaux becomes the kind woman we remember her to be.

Review | Analysis: After failing to create the Daniel Grayson fund at the hospital, Emily beings to take matters into her own hands. She knows that it is the time to clear his name. After all that has been said and done, she knows that Margaux was a good woman who just wanted revenge for the man she was in love with. Despite the threats from Victoria, Emily decides to change the story for her own reasoning. Knowing Daniel was a good man and that her love for him was not always a lie, she will stop at nothing to have him remembered that way.

Episode Summary: Jack fights to prove his innocence as Margaux begins to realize that she does not like the person she has become.

Review | Analysis: Things were left off shaky last week when Jack was taken away from his son. Fortunately, Emily calls on over Jack’s mother who stands by him as a lawyer and a mother. Although the support is there, Jack still faces up to 5 years in prison. To make matters worse, the blood sample mysteriously disappears … proving that he was in fact, drugged and not drinking.

Review | Analysis: After winning the court battle against Victoria, Natalie throws the fourth of July bash. We’ve seen these parties before.. champagne, fancy catering, and a lot of drama. This is exactly what is bound to happen when Natalie invites David as her date. To top things off, she invites Victoria herself, the former host of these extravagant parties.

Episode Summary: As Margaux plans to turn in a tape revealing crucial evidence, Jack and Emily must team together to clear their name and secure their future.

Review | Analysis: Despite her friendship with Jack, Margaux decides to move forward with her plan in exposing Emily, and thereby exposing Jack as well. From her facial expressions, we do see how difficult it is for her to come to this decision. Unfortunately, just like Emily, she chooses the path of revenge.

Revenge 4×14 “Kindred” Recap

Spoilers Ahead

Once the dust has settled, some move forward while others are haunted by the guilt of their past decisions.

Episode Summary: As Malcolm’s death is celebrated, Emily and David finally have the moment to be father and daughter while others are still picking up the pieces from the ruin that was left behind.

Review | Analysis: The time is here. Revenge is over, at least for Emily. All the barriers have been taken down: the Graysons, all the accomplices, Malcom Black. It is finally the time for father and daughter to have a peaceful life together. We see the first normal interaction after years as David sends his daughter photos of a few ties to choose from.

This break from drama won’t last too long and we see that as Margaux slowly begins to gather the evidence against Emily. We see photos being taken of father and daughter as they share a hug while celebrating Emily’s real birthday.
