Devon Woodcomb (Chuck)
Awesome — how appropriately titled for Chuck’s Devon Woodcomb. This isn’t the first time I’ll say this and it’s most certainly not the last, but Devon Woodcomb is one of the most underrated characters to ever exist on a TV series … or rather anywhere. Initially when we were introduced to him in the pilot, I didn’t think he was a character that’d make it to the end and that’s exactly what makes him remarkable. He’s written and presented in such a way where the audience will instantly assume he’ll be stereotyped into nothing but a pretty boy jock who’d leave no impression, but as the seasons progress he proves, and in the most effortless of ways if I may add, that he’s in fact so much more. Devon Woodcomb is a number of things — ridiculously smart, empathetic, thoughtful, but most importantly he’s supremely noble.

Chuck Bartowski (Chuck)
We all have that one TV character we’ll love the end of the time — the one we jokingly tell our significant other they should be more like. The one who’s truly ideal. You can’t not fall in love with Chuck Bartowski. When someone shows you so much of their heart and simultaneously loves Star Wars, it’s a done deal. Am I right, ladies? But in all seriousness, there are a number of things that have made Chuck a noteworthy, noble character, and my all-time favorite TV male. Chuck’s integrity, openness, and empathy effortlessly weaved into an unapologetic nerd makes him indescribably special. As Sarah Walker once said: “I love Chuck Bartowski and I don’t know what to do about it.” Same, Sarah. Same.

Team Bartowski (Chuck)
I would happily join Team Bartowski if I could. Seriously why don’t I have the opportunity to be a spy? Why did no one recruit me when I was working at Barnes and Noble? That’s somewhat similar to the Buy More, right!? The point is, Chuck Bartowski is a lucky man. John Casey, Sarah Walker, and Chuck may have started out as the sole members of Team Bartowski, but when Morgan finally joined in along with Devon and Ellie, everything was magic. Chuck became the utmost perfect show. (Okay sort of, it was always perfect.) We are who we are because of those who love us, and Team Bartowski needed one another without even realizing it, but most importantly, they’ve effortlessly had a remarkable impact on one another.

Devon Woodcomb and Ellie Bartowski (Chuck)
Devon “Awesome” Woodcomb and Ellie Bartowski are perhaps one of the greatest and most underrated couples in TV history. There’s never a dull moment between the two and while their story isn’t often the center of the series, Chuck wouldn’t have been the same without them. If you paid close attention you’d notice that the way they love one another is truly ideal. The development of their relationship and all around presence did an incredible job of grounding viewers from a world of outrageous shenanigans that spies go through. Ellie and Awesome are an impeccably solid team — whether they’re comforting one another after a hard day of work or just adoring one another as they did upon first meeting, they’re always a breath of fresh air.

Chuck Bartowski and Sarah Walker (Chuck)
Let it be known before any of this begins that Chuck Bartowski is my ideal fictional boyfriend in every single way. (That Sarah Walker’s a lucky lady.) Chuck isn’t a series about love, but an enormous part of what makes it so special is the development between Chuck and Sarah. From their very first, sincere meeting at the beach to their explosive first kiss, watching them slowly, but fervently fall in love with one another has been the icing on top of an already wonderful show. To be frank, I’m an absolute fan of the way couples generally get together in Spy/Cop show dramas — there’s just something ridiculously fascinating about the undercover lovers trope. (I mean, seriously though. I’m obsessed with it.) Chuck and Sarah do a lot of going back and forth until “Chuck vs The Other Guy” (s3e13), but when they finally get together, their loves is incomparable. It’s not often the nerdy guy gets the most beautiful girl on television, but what’s always been the most wonderful detail in their relationship is the fact that Sarah falls in love Chuck Bartowski the man, not the spy, and Chuck falls for Sarah Walker, the woman behind the tough exterior.
Chuck and Sarah aren’t an easy couple for me to write about, there’s so much to them that I love and not enough words. There’s no way I can write about all my favorite scenes without us ending up at 3219 pages; however, there are moments that I’ve always felt defined them most gorgeously — moments that have made me cry tears of joy and thereby, landing them the number six spot on this list.
