On this week’s episode of Marvelous Geeks, I throw it back to October 17 when I got to sit down with two of my incredible friends in Philadelphia, Melody and Leen to discuss a topic that’s very near to our hearts. We talk about how we all met and what it’s like to carry on a long distance friendship all while giving our input on what makes a healthy friendship. The good, the bad, the ugly? We get into it. The podcast gets a little bit emotional as we share some of the struggles we’ve gone through in our lives (i.e. depression, anxiety, grief) and the kind of help/space that’s appreciated.Continue reading
25 Inimitable Men 15/25
Chandler Bing (F.R.I.E.N.D.S.)
Raise your hand if Chandler Bing is your favorite F.R.I.E.N.D.S. character. Same. It’s interesting because Chandler has been one of my favorite characters since I could remember, but he’s one of the characters who’s so hard to describe. And I suppose in a sense, that’s what makes him so inimitable. I still don’t actually know what Chandler does as a career, I can’t seem to ever remember if it’s clarified or not and that in and of itself is a little weird, but there’s so much to him that the simple detail of his career isn’t entirely relevant. His sarcasm and wit cobbled with his steadfast loyalty and the choice to always learn make him a remarkably unforgettable character.
25 Nearest and Dearest 5/25
Monica, Rachel, Chandler, Joey, Phoebe and Ross (F.R.I.E.N.D.S.)
It is literally in the title — F.R.I.E.N.D.S. You’d know what the series is about even if you haven’t seen all 236 episodes. (And look, while I’m sure these people exist, I’ve personally never met someone who hasn’t watched F.R.I.E.N.D.S.) Point being, of course Phoebe, Monica, Rachel, Chandler, Joey, and Ross would make this list. Of course, I’d do wish to do everything in my power to condense 10 seasons worth of TV into one post. But here is the reality, it’s impossible. Although I’m sure there’s a person out there who could manage to choose their favorite moments, I’m not one of those people. I tried. Seriously I did. That said, while I can’t sit here and write about all my favorite moments (tears), I can tell you why I’ll always love this group.
