Olivia finally breaks her silence about her relationship with Fitz to the world in a tell-all interview and Fitz makes a move that will likely leave Mellie in awe.
Episode Summary: Fitz’s impeachment hearing gains steam as Liv tells her side of the story.
Review | Analysis: Since going public with their relationship, Fitz’s presidency has been up in the air and Cyrus was the one who was stressing about it. At the same time, he wanted to see it fail and that was going to happen with the help of Mellie.
With all of this crumbling down within in seconds, Fitz needed a lawyer and fast! David offered his help and hired Patty Snell. He told Fitz not to mention any of this to Olivia since she too was now in need of some assistance. Queue in Leo!
She told Leo that Fitz never gave anything to her. Haha yeah right, that was a lie but she needed to show that she’s human and not this big deal person that everyone makes her seem to be.
She went to Edison an he threw the whole “a criminal, a whore, an idiot and liar” back to her face. If he was going to help her, he deserved to know the truth. And by help we mean lie.
Patty Snell stepped in to offer her help for Fitz. Abby told the press that if need be, Fitz would testify because he has nothing to hide. Snell didn’t want him to have executive power and Mellie was right there in the midst of it, however had to resign because she was a conflict of interest. Whomp, whomp, whomp!
BUT of course Mellie being Mellie, just when Liv thought Leo was doing well, the press found out about the ring Fitz gave her. And of course, Leo was upset that Liv didn’t tell him everything which is ironic since her first rule with clients is always how she has to know every little detail.
Olivia went on air and talked about the ring. When asked if she regretted everything that had happened, she said “I wish I never laid eyes on him.”
Meanwhile, Huck and Quinn weren’t too keen on Leo’s plan. They wanted to help out Olivia by forging a plan so they can get votes for her. Marcus was all in too but the problem was that there was a video during the whole kidnapping ordeal and if it got out, or if the public somehow found out Fitz had seen it then the going to war that he did out of love was an impeachable offense.
Mellie and Cyrus got drunk together as they were watching the interview. The media thought Olivia was on good terms now and Cyrus apologized for ever bringing Olivia onto Fitz’s campaign. If it wasn’t for Cy, the two love birds more than likely wouldn’t have ever met.
Fitz called Cy and told him he wanted him back. Cy knew Fitz needed something and it was big. “This band is never ever getting back together,” Cy said. “I do not need this. I do not need you. Not anymore.” Ouch. After all those years together, Cy must have had enough of all the scheming and stuff he had to do.
Fitz begins to apologize and realizes that he didn’t appreciate Cyrus as he should’ve. Yet, Cyrus is ready to come back but with a few requests. He wants to be reinstated as Chief of Staff. Elizabeth North, aka Lizzie Bear, has to leave. Ethan and Abby could stay. Cy wanted full presidential pardon. He would keep the video secret if those demands were met. Fitz agreed, obviously, without any doubts.
We can’t wait to see Mellie’s reaction when she finds out about this. We all know that deep down inside, Cy has always been Team Fitz! Let us know what you think below.
Until next week, Gladiators…
