Series: Once Upon A Time
Episode: “White Out” (4×02)

“There’s always people in this world who want you to give up, don’t make their lives any easier.”

Our favorite part of Once Upon A Time and it’s characters is the fact that they’re always hopeful. And we’re the kind of people who never get tired of positivity, but then again who would!? What we’ve adored most about The Charmings and their optimism is that it doesn’t come from a place of having it easy because their lives have been anything but that. Both Charming and Snow have led incredibly difficult lives but they’ve gotten to where they are without giving up. And there’s no statement quite as true as the one above.

The unfortunate truth is that not everyone wants the best for us. There will always be someone waiting to watch us fail and that’s the very reason we should never. At the end of the day, we all stumble. If we didn’t, we wouldn’t be human, but we need to remember that we’re not failures until the moment we chose to give up. We don’t always have a say in things, but we do have a say in how hard we fight for what we want. If Walt Disney had given up after he was told he had no imagination, we wouldn’t know timeless classic animated films like we do now. We would never know what a Disneyland is, and we’d never be exposed to the kind of magic it feels we’re filled with every time we watch one of Disney’s films or enter the happiest place on earth. Even when you get to the place you want to be, you must still fight to be worthy of it. Characters on Once Upon A Time are special because even when they get what they’ve always wanted, they never giving up fighting to keep them – they never give up fighting to be the best version of themselves possible. When something comes easy to us, we take advantage of it – we don’t realize how fortunate we are until we lose it. Optimism comes from a place of hard earned success. It’s a choice. A choice to live life knowing that we are strong and successful when we fight til our last breath. The most successful people in the world –in our book at least– are the ones who are brave enough to be themselves, and the ones who never stop fighting for what they want. The world doesn’t need to know your name in order for you to be successful, deep down, you must know that you’re constantly giving your all and never giving up no matter how hard it may seem to get. Trust your heart enough to know that it always wants what’s best for you and because it’s what keeps you alive, no matter how many times you fall, get up knowing that you’re one step closer.
